The face of a man who is ready for a holiday...

2 months ago, who would have thought that in 2 days time we were headed to the US of A for three months. Not me for one, and I'm pretty sure the rest of my family were just as surprised but this has been one tough year. So many thoughts running through my mind... Can I actually spend this much time with my family, how will the kids behave, what will happen at work while I am gone and how much is an appropriate amount of beer to drink on the plane to cop a buzz but not cop a hard time through customs at the other end? Still have a tonne of packing to do and even more stuff to sort out around the house. Wednesday is approaching way too fast.

Had my first freak out at the super market this morning. Short cut bacon was on sale and I was about to buy 2 kilos when I realised that I wasn't going to be home for 3 months. And that the country I was going to had terrible bacon. Despite this, really looking forward to spending some real time with my family and getting to know my kids.
