Arrivederci Venezia, ciao Firenze

Left Venice today but not before stopping at the local fish markets for a bit of a look see. Smelled pretty fishy tbh. Also picked up a pre made spag bog mix which I'm looking forward to trying this week.

We stopped for lunch at a place recommended by our airbnb host as his fave place to eat in Venice. Did not disappoint. It was a tiny little crowded room with a few small tables. There was no way we were going to fit our luggage inside but they let us stow them in the store room a few doors down while we ate. After 5 plates of pasta, we were mostly pretty full but the misso was devastated she didn't get to try the sardines as a second course but we were running out of time to get back to the train station.

The train ride from Venice to Florence was pretty great. Just under 2 hours so gave me a chance to read a bit more of my Lemmy book and sip on a couple of train bevs. First thing I noticed when we got here was the climate. So much more pleasant. Even though the temperature was only a few degrees different, just instantly felt warmer.

TFW you have 2 kid free hours because of seating and find out they have beer on the train

Nekminit. Holiday mode engaged.
The place where we are staying is sick. It is the Italian equivalent of heritage listed because it has original 16th century frescos painted on the ceilings. Quick grocery shop and pizza stop for dinner and time for bed. Looking forward to the next 2 weeks here.
